This is a good spot that opens early with homemade coffee. Simple’s breakfast but it will get you started on the right foot. It’s run by an older couple who makes you feel so welcome. The only reason it gets 3 stars for atmosphere is the smoking. Smoking is allowed and while you are eating there is smoke. With that being said, if you just need a quick bite for breakfast and coffee to start the day, this is your place.

They serve basic toast with eggs and coffee. They also have a few different types of cakes to choose from. I think the cafe is a family run business as they are very friendly, nice and makes you feel at home. They also have english menu.

I highly recommend this cosy coffee shop to all travellers living nearby!! The coffee and toast I had are very nice. More importantly, the old couple who own the place are very friendly and willing to talk to tourists. The old lady speaks English quit well (among the japanese in Kyoto). They lend me a book to read during my breakfast time and give me a local map when i left....
