Smart Place Inn Kyoto Nijojo Horikawa — Hotel in Kyoto

This hotel is okay for the price, its definitely on the cheaper side considering the cost of accommodation in Kyoto. A couple of things to note if you plan to stay here:

It is a 10 min walk from Omiya station which is the closest Stn, if you have a lot of luggage 10 mins is a bit of a stretch to walk. However it is 5-7mins from a few bus stops.

You can get luggage sent here but they do not offer sending luggage services to other hotels/accomm. We did not factor this into our trip and hoped that most hotels if not all had luggage forwarding service. However you can go to a nearby 7/11 for Yamato services which is what we had to do.

They do not clean your room daily like other larger hotels. You can request for light clean which at most is bin change and towel change but you need to pay extra if you want regular Deep cleans. This is understandable so don't expect your bed/room to be cleaned every day!

Have 100yen coins stocked up for the washing and dryer.

The room is quite tight, however we knew this when booking. But it's lacking adequate shelving/hanging space. We stored our suitcase under the beds to save space but more hangers on the blank wall would have been nice.

Overall the hotel staff were nice and we did not have any issues. But for the price and comparing with other hotels we stayed in Osaka/Tokyo, it's a bit sad in terms of amenities. Think I will avoid booking Smart Inn in...

The rooms were small but good enough for two people. You just have to arrange your luggages so that it would not block the door. They do not offer cleaning services for stays less than 5 days. Burası kesinlikle otel değil, sadece oda kiralıyorsunuz. İkinci gün su istedik, her otelde günlük 2 şişe ücretsiz verilir diye düşündük. Ancak aldığımız cevap sadece girişte suyun ücretsiz olduğu, sonrasında istiyorsak ücret ödeyip almamız gerektiği oldu. Gerçekten şaka gibi; su gibi en temel bir ihtiyacı bile karşılamıyorlar.

Resepsiyon var ama check-in ve check-out dışında hiçbir işe yaramıyor. Odalar temizlenmiyor, çöpler alınmıyor. Çöplerinizi kapıya bırakmak zorundasınız. Havluları ise kendiniz aşağıdan alıyorsunuz. Ortak kullanımda çamaşır makinesi var ama ütü yok. Bavulları tartmak için tartı sorduk, o da yoktu.
