MIMARU Kyoto Nijo Castle — Hotel in Kyoto

I would like to start with my disappoint that I can only give This hotel chain a 5 start rating. They deserve much higher. We are traveling Japan for the first time with two teen daughters. The hotel is exceptionally clean, with all amenities feeling new and fresh. The space is very comfortable with two bunk bed and two single mattress sided by side. There is a table with sofas that can pull out into a bed. The bathrooms are excellent. Full size washer/dryer. Refrigerator with freezer. Sink and storage areas.

The staff is so fantastic, they speak excellent English. Very few USA hotel chains have this quality people.

I work as a full time airline pilot so I stay in hotels 3-4 night a week. This hotels is excellent.

If you are planning a trip, this place has great prices. Locations are EXCELLENT! Just pick this chain in all the cities you are planning.

When we were planning our trip it can feel overwhelming trying to pick a spot and hotel. You see picture online and hope they are actually what you will get when arriving. The pictures do not represent the actual quality of this hotel, ESPECIALLY for the price. Everything was better than expected, the rooms are way better than we thought they would be.

After talking with my wife tonight, we are choosing this chain for our Japan travels. If this place is available book it. We are absolutely happy with our choice.

I also need to mention once again how outstanding the staff is! It’s such a pleasant experience to have a hotel run by such quality people.

The hotel was absolutely fantastical, and from the moment we stepped inside, we were impressed by its unique charm. The rooms were a beautiful blend of tradition and comfort, with the traditional sliding doors that instantly evoked a sense of nostalgia, reminiscent of our homeland. It was a delightful touch that made the space feel both familiar and special. We also appreciated the thoughtful amenities available at the lobby, where we could rent useful items which made our stay even more convenient and stress-free.

Although the room was a wee bit on the smaller side, it didn’t detract from our overall experience. The layout was efficient, and the space was still cozy and inviting, offering everything we needed. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room had a peaceful, serene atmosphere that made it easy to unwind after a day of exploring.

What truly made our stay unforgettable, however, was the warmth and kindness of the staff. Every member we encountered was incredibly friendly and eager to assist, always going out of their way to ensure our comfort. This genuine hospitality added so much to the overall experience and made us feel at home in a foreign place.

Overall, it was a brilliant experience, enhanced by the charming rooms, the thoughtful amenities, and the exceptional service. We left with lasting memories and would happily return for...

Costumer service: Traveling with my family including my two small children- the staff was incredibly kind. They gave my kids a bingo sheet filled with local things to do and they received a prize after completely- so adorable. Every morning we were asked where we were headed and offered directions and recommendations on things to see and things to eat. Top notch service and so family friendly, they even asked and remembered my kids names!

Facilities: location is great and close to several bus stops. The room is spectacular we are a family of four and we had immense space. The bunk beds were perfect for our kids. The window blinds blocked out all light for quality sleep. The kitchen area is excellent with a full fridge and freezer, plenty of plates, pots, pans, dishes, cups and silverware. A full bathtub and shower. And the cherry on top is a in room washer/dryer. We have spent 3 weeks traveling around Japan and being able to do laundry in our room was incredible! Also so much storage- everything we owned could be put away neatly. That includes the stroller and luggage we had. A perfect stay.

There is no breakfast coffee or tea provided. Honestly with the in room kitchen just go down the street to 7-11 and you will be set.
