Wow - just wow. I am in heaven.
If you are a lover of gelato and the finer things in life, you would be doing yourself a disservice by not coming here. If you like your gelato free of toxic chemicals, additives, emulsifiers, preservatives and synthetic ingredients, and prefer your gelato ORGANIC and delicious, then this is the place for you. It is the best gelato you will ever have. Each flavor is bursting with greatness, not just a treat, but a staple for your soul.
Chef pours his heart and soul into every batch of freshly made gelato and it translates into dances on your tastebuds. The abundance of incredible flavors, some with local Japanese twists and others that are timeless classics, are all oh so magnificent.
I honestly feel like I am dreaming because I have never found such a perfect gelato shop anywhere in the world. It would be an honor to meet Nakagawa-san and learn from the master himself. They should cancel the gelato contest and give all future awards to Premarche Gelateria because honestly how does it get better than here? If someone has a place, please do tell.
The worst (or secretly best?) part about this place? It does not have a line out the door as it is not too close to the tourist areas, but tucked away in a market like the hidden gem it is.
I love this place. Be prepared for ultimate happiness and joy. Not just gelato, but as Nakagawa-san says, a medicine for heart.

Read moreA must go to place if you are ever in Kyoto. I’m lactose intolerant, so finding a gelateria or ice cream place that does’t use milk or cream can be difficult to find, unless one is looking for flavoured shaved ice but that is usually seasonal. This place is amazing and usually open all year around, they have a wide range of gelato, going from milk based, sorbet, vegan, gluten free, and others. Also they always seem to be changing up their menu, so each visit there is always a new recommendation or flavour. While it is usually possible to request a or a few flavours to taste before buying your actual order, due to Covid they are instead offering a tasting bite of an extra flavour depending on what you order. Price wise it makes more sense to buy the double scoop in a cup but they do also offer cones and a special allergen specific waffer cone, although I never tried them. I think it’s one of the most or the most allergen friendly places I’ve ever been...
Read moreUnexpectedly cool and modern ice-cream shop in an old-fashioned shopping street. I love that they have a large selection of choices for the different kinds of customer, so many vegan choices! First, place your order and pay at the ticket machine by the entrance, then hand your ticket to the counter staff. You're allowed one free tasting of one flavor, more than that, and it'll cost you 100yen for three tastings. I tasted 'The Kingdom of Tropical Magic' and liked it, but in the end, I got matcha and chocolate. On first impressions, my double in a cup looked small, but the gelato was so rich and indulgent that, for me, it was enough. The level of sweetness was just right, letting the flavors take center stage and shine. The matcha tasted properly of green tea, and the chocolate one was so chocolatey; I loved them both! Looking forward to trying more flavors on...
