Chuka-Soba Rantan — Restaurant in Kyoto

Great place to get a little outside your comfort zone if you are visiting from abroad - staff and service nice and the food was good, basic ramen. This is one of the shops where you purchase a ticket for the meal from a machine outside the door - stand in the queue (if there is one - there wasn't for us) until you get to the machine, put in your money first, select a meal (based on picture, but it's pretty easy to pick out the two or three core ramen dishes), out pops a ticket, then press the button to get any change back. When you get to the front of the queue, the staff takes your ticket, takes you to a table, and then your food arrives. Where to start. The multi different flavors running wild in my mouth for one. This is by far the best ramen we had in Kyoto Japan. And this is our 4th ramen since we got here. Every thing was cooked perfect. The pork melted in your mouth. The chicken melted in your mouth. Oh, amd the dumplings were put of this world packed with flavor. I added a little bonito flakes and it brought the broth to life. The seaweed did not over take the flavor of the broth unlike other places. And it was perfect, not tough, it also melted in your mouth. The noodles cooked to perfection. And wait, the staff was really really nice. We had great conversation waiting to sit down. Our lunch at Chukasoba Ramen Rantan in Kyoto was a good experience! Upon arriving at the restaurant, we were able to use the ticket machine to select our ramen and send the order to the staff. The restaurant interior was generally clean and well maintained by the staff. Various amenities such as water and antibacterial napkins were all also provided by the restaurant for guests. As for the staff, all of the staff members were friendly and happy to help with queries or requests throughout the dining experience. As for the food, the ramen is high quality with a rich and flavourful broth, as well as various toppings that are good value for money.
