I came here last year. It was fantastic. Place,Atmosphere, food and service . Everything was amazing. People were so nice. Best service minds as well as great manners. I feel this is the coolest rooftop in town that i recommend to anyone who is looking for a place in Kyoto to visit, and i still would just for the view alone.
I came here fully expecting the same great experience as I had there last year! Unfortunately the wonderful memories of this place were ruined by a female staff member who was working behind the bar.
She made my partner and i feel uncomfortable to even order any food because of the way she spoke to us and her attitude. We were planning on ordering more drinks, truffle fries and burgers which we realt enjoyed the previous visit. So sadly we even left hungry!!
I walked into the shop with the cup of a few strawberries that I got from across the street, i went to the cashier to order the drink and tried to get a table first then she just pointed at the strawberry cup in my hand and told me she wanted take it. ( I totally understand about many places not allowing people to bring food and drinks from outside, especially since i also work in the service industry) so i immediately told her “ i am going to finish these strawberry outside, i just want to come to order my drink first” i asked my partner to order the drink for me and then i immediately turned around to finish the strawberries outside the establishment.
As I have been a customer for a variety of many different restaurants and bars including 5 star hotels and even 3 Michelin stars restaurants in many countries, the employee really made me feel like this is the last time i would want to be a customer or recommend this establishment to anyone who could face a similar experience, considering how it made me feel as a...
Read moreThis bar is ruined by the really bad service although the view is lovely. I walked in with my partner and the girl serving us told us we couldn’t sit at the bar until we ordered, she then tried and make us sit at the bar with no view even though there was plenty of other seats empty. She had a really hostile attitude but was very happy to serve the Japanese patrons sitting at the bar even though she wouldn’t do the same for us. As we were leaving we had left our glasses on our table (usually we would bring them up but because of her rude hostile service we decided not to in this case), she shouted at us to bring our glasses back up to the bar. My partner has been a bartender in the past and said he has never seen that in all his years working in customer service. The only redeeming quality of this bar is the view - the female bartender working there ruins it. Everyone else we have met in japan has been so lovely and friendly, this was...
Read moreI’ve wanted to come here forever and finally did. Arrived 5 min before it opens and there was a line. About 10 groups in front of me. Was able to get a nice seat but if you come later you’ll most likely be standing. I think standing would be a great way to make friends. Customers are mostly young women probably early 20s. The one thing I didn’t like were so many of those girls were trying to get their insta pics and used their flash so much. It was kinda distracting when I wanted to have a nice time talking and admiring the view with my friend. The food was great but they were out of cheeseburgers although it just opened so idk what’s up with that. The mojito which is recommended was so good!!! Highly recommend! I wanna go back again for the view, possibly to make friends and try...
