A fabulous find! It was a pretty day in Arashiyama and we wanted a meal to cater for three hungry (and one vegetarian) girls. The service was wonderful, efficient and polite. The setting was moderately formal but pretty. As we were in a rush we went for the soba noodle set lunch. The presentation was small, subtle and very pretty and each dish was very tasty. The meal felt very clean and had a delicious sorbet to finish. At ¥1800 it was a bargain and there's a beautiful outdoor terrace we'd love to sit out on when it's warmer. I'd definitely recommend if you're looking for a quick, light lunch or to experience a good kaiseki meal.

Only the service and environment are good. The food was super terrible. This is the worst restaurant i have ever tried in Japan. All of the food tastes bad, and the dessert is the only food which can eat. What worse, in the last food of rice, the pickled radishes was broken and smells disgusting. I really wonder how they can have lots of good comments ! I hope no one experiences this food anymore. NOT RECOMMENDED IT ! KEEP THIS RESTAURANT ALONE ! By the way, the prices are horrible, 15000 yen for this terrible food just like fraud.

After exploring the bamboo forest at Arashiyama we wanted lunch and came here for their kaiseki menu. I had the 7 course tofu kaiseki menu. Each dish was beautifully presented and the flavors were delicate and delicious. Service is very good but English is very limited. If you're lucky or make reservations there are tables outside with a view of the river. I believe my kaiseki was about $55.
