Kyoto University Coop Cafeteria Renais — Restaurant in Kyoto

The Renais is the co-op store of Kyoto University. Overall it isn't too good or bad as a school shop. The prices are on par with some of the convenience stores nearby(actually a bit higher) and the cafeteria people are rather unfriendly, but the staff on the first floor, especially the computer stores, real estate place and general info are wonderful.

I think if you are a Kyoto University student you could use this place from time to time... but there are certainly no bargains at this store so if you have friends or someone else you can ask for a better price, I would try there first, be it housing, books,...

Although it’s a Kyoto University cafeteria owned by the Co-op, anyone can eat here, as it’s incredibly affordable, has a not-so-bad decor, and on nice days, one can eat on the rooftop.

Plus, they have a wide variety of foods, even Halal food, that’s all quite delicious.

Everything is very flavorful and relatively healthy. They even tell you what allergens are included in that specific dish, as well as the calories for each size...

Very cheap food since it's a food court, but that doesn't mean there's no variety in dishes and that the dishes are terrible. The quality of food more than equals the price, meaning you'll get Ok-goodish food for a dime.

Swing by here if you are on a budget but still want to eat something edible. It's a nice and lively atmosphere with all the university students eating...
