My wife found this place by coincidence and we decided to give it a try. We managed to get seated with no waiting time at all. We consider ourselves quite lucky, as we’re pretty certain it won’t be long before this place becomes wildly popular and getting in becomes impossible. The food was delicious and it was obvious a lot of thought had been put into it. We both ordered a bao-set, which came with a salad as a starter. The salad had a wonderful mix of textures, colors and flavours. It felt as if every element had been very carefully considered. The bao itself was wonderfully fluffy, and the confit Duck filling spot on. As a part of the set we were served fried sweet potato which had been seasoned (I Think) with a Spice that had some sort of sour kick to it (dear owner, correct me if I’n wrong). It was a great Way to balance out the fattines of the fried (and very crispy) potato. At the end of the meal we were offered a lovely digestif based on a taiwanese fruit, clarified pineapple and gin. From service to the food this is a 5 star location, hands down. This was such a unique way to experience a Taiwanese Bao! I’m Taiwanese myself and was curious so that’s how we landed here!
The menu is by a set price and the food is a perfect blend of street with fine dining twist made affordable. We’re so happy we landed here and even got one of the best Americanos in all of Japan so far! Pressured to perfection.
Every dish tells a story, and was made with love, creativity and perfection in balance and texture. I know it’s a lot of descriptive words but trust me. You won’t regret it and will know exactly what I’m talking about once you have it!
It was wonderful and they care for every persons experience when you step into the...
Read moreWow such a cool experience. Our group was on a Noma Collective trip and so we had the entire space to ourselves and it was essentially a private chef experience! The menu was small but they were also able to exchange one of the meats for suitable mushrooms for veggie and vegans.
The chef took so much time to explain all of the unique ingredients that he was using, where they came from how we would taste them. So much care was taken on this food from start to finish. The salad was incredible, the fried sweet potato was addictive and the bao buns were just perfect. Great Taiwanese yuzu tea too. Overall one of the best food experiences here - it deserves the high rating!
Definitely try to...
