I stopped here because the patio was empty and there was seating next to a riverbed at sunset and the vibe was just so lovely to take in. The chocolates are beautiful but I ended up with a spicy Aztec drink and a tiramisu brownie. It was the best dessert I've ever had. I thought about ordering a second one to go but didn't want to be overly decadent. I tried to return the next night and the next night, but each time, I was too late and the shop had already closed. I even thought about making a trip with all my luggage when I was on way out of kyoto, but it was too cumbersome. I regret it. The desserts in Japan are awesome, but when people ask me how my vacation was, I tell them about...

Gorgeous chocolate shop by the river! Be forewarned, it is a bit pricy if you buy the chocolate, but the baked goods and gelato are more reasonably priced. The tiramisu brownie was delicious, but the matcha pillow puff (looks like a large macaron) was not good. It was too sweet, had no matcha flavor, was hollow, and was hard, not soft. To be fair, I assumed it was soft because of the name, but the taste was still lacking. The gelato was AMAZING. The dark chocolate was yummy, as well as the milk chocolate. They had plenty of other flavors, too. I would definitely come back here to give it another try. The atmosphere was gorgeous, very whimisical...

Very reminiscent of a French chocolatier, the decor here was adorable. You can tell they put a lot of attention into their presentation and offered samples throughout the store. We ordered a hazelnut “pillow,” a lemon and pistachio cannoli, and a “chunk” bar - all of which were delightful and devoured. The pillow was definitely the most memorable so please, please visit here and buy one as it’s worth the money! The staff also gave us some free chocolate covered coffee beans with our purchase and were extremely friendly with us. Would definitely recommend this place, especially for chocolate lovers...
