We reached at 5:45PM and the woman at the counter insisted that it is closing by 6PM so we settled on a few takeouts. Nothing beats the taste of freshly fried croquettes and they were truly magnificent with a crisp breadcrumb coating and a creamy centre seasoned nicely with the filling of our choice.
Something strange happened as we were eating outside. A few people whom I gather are staff went into the shop with supplies and a young woman changed into a server's outfit while a man stood behind the bar.
It became apparent that full service resumes at 6PM but we were not allowed to sit inside for 15 minutes. I do not think it is the language barrier but the attitude of the service personnel. We have encountered friendly people who try to explain to foreigners but this was lacking here.
The croquettes were great especially on a cold dat but were let down by...

The placards for the croquettes were in japanese and we were sounding out the katakana before we noticed the English menu on the wall. We tried the salmon & dill, blue cheese, octopus, and plain. Not problem, we just walked a block to where there...
Read moreWe arrived at 22.00 on a friday and specially to eat there because it was a recommended place. The opening hours said until 23.00. As soon as we got to the door they told us they were sold out. The place looked a bit empty. Maybe they were actually sold out, but as the main dish is croquettes (different ones), sounds a bit suspicious, did you run out all you had to offer? We work in the service industry, and we always offer whatever we have until established closing hours, so it is not a good customer service to just say "sorry we are sold out". Something tells me is not a...
