Tokyu Vacations Kyoto — Hotel in Kyoto

My three generational family (myself, two teens, my sister, and our father) stayed here for 5 nights in early September.||||We really liked that room had both a bedroom with Western style beds and a tatami room with three futons (plus a sofabed in the living room). We also enjoyed the fully equipped kitchen (it even has a rice cooker, convection/microwave, toaster, and hot pot!) ||||When we made our reservation we were told they only offered free wired internet service so we brought our own router. Not necessary though as they now have free wi-fi with good strong signal throughout the room. (none is available in the lobby)||||Big Week is located next to a stream and it is a very tranquil location. Walking along the stream leads you to some great little eateries, boutiques, and temples/shrines. ||||There is parking available. But the subway is just across the street, a bus stop is less than a block away, taxis are plentiful (and not as expensive as Tokyo) and it is walking distance to the Gion district as well as many other attractions. ||||The only negatives are more our fault than theirs. We don't speak very much Japanese, so communicating was difficult at times. Also because it is a timeshare there aren't any cleaning services. It could be off putting if someone isn't aware, but we stay at timeshares so it wasn't that big of a surprise. You can pay for cleaning services or you can empty your trash and take out your dirty linens and pick up fresh in the lobby.||||The biggest problem though is that the address that comes up on Google Maps is NOT where they are located. Big week Kyoto or Tokyu vacation kyoto is an ideal place ro stay for a family. It is located beside Higashimaya station so it is very accessible if you go around using the subway. There are a lot of resatuarants around and convenience store.|Although they can not speak very good english in the reception , they are very friendly|The 2 bedroom unit is very clean and has complete amenities. One room has western beds and the other room is japanese style using floor mats which are very comfortable.|I would go back again and stay in this place next time.|The only thing that we did not enjoy was the weather. Location is excellent! Right in the heart of the city, close to several temples, within walking distance to the river, and a subway stop right in front of the building. Amenities are modern and not lacking. Very excellent place to stay to...
