Olu Burger Kyoto — Restaurant in Kyoto

My family and I visited a little past noon. There were only two people working at the restaurant and there was a mistake with ordering due to the language barrier. We appreciate that the staff did what they could to overcome the language barrier. Because there were only two people working the entire restaurant and because it was peak lunch hours though, the wait was pretty long.

However, the burger here was so good that I could look past those issues. The patty is made from high-quality Wagyu and it was one of the most delicious burger patties I have had. It is cooked slightly on the rare side which I really enjoyed. The bread was soft and complemented the patty well. The fries were also very good.

Aside from the wait time, we had a great time and enjoyed our meal. It is a much better burger than even the ones I have had back in the USA. I highly recommend it if you are craving a burger while...

Service was lacking, But..you will be be surprised now. Since my first visit...I have changed my mind.I can highly recommend this burger place!! There is a lot of good..in the taste of the meat...and unlike most Kyoto burgers..the patty is thick and juicy. I was the only customer.Previously one woman behind the counter was doing nothing. She is thankfully gone. Now there is no waitress. A chef in the kitchen. I order the Y1400+ for a bacon, cheese and the excellent burger with a slice of a beefsteak tomato and lettuce. It is classic. I was disappointed with the service before..but now that she is gone I appreciate...

Friendly staff who can accommodate English speaking customers. I ordered the cheeseburger. They recommend the double cheeseburger but looking at the none double patty, I’m not sure how I would have attacked that. I gave up and used a knife and fork. Patty is recommended at medium rare but they do ask first and I guess they will cook it to your preference. It was nicely seasoned, which, in my opinion, is the factor that can make or break a burger. As a bonus, fries were tasty. It was pretty empty when we went on a Sunday night, but the area itself was quiet at night. I imagine the lunch crowd...
