Meditations — Local services in Kyoto

Great selection of NEW noise/experimental/ambient/world/jazz CDs, vinyls and cassettes. Didn't see much in terms of used records. This is the place to get a new limited edition Merzbow release.

Prices seem a bit high, but prob because it's all new. Still was able to find some cool new releases (La Monte Young!) that I would prob never find in Toronto, Canada.

Also, prices don't appear to be listed on the actual records; owner looks them up on the website when you go to pay. So can be a bit of a shock when he tells you the total.

Lastly, it's up on the 3rd floor and can get pretty hot. Still very worth...

If the subtle street signage doesn't lead you to the entrance up the stairs to this beautiful record store full of Ambient, New Age, Drone, Electronic, and Jazz records, the smell of the stores (custom made) incense wafting down the stairs will.

With racks full of releases you'd otherwise have to order online (at least in Australia), and a decent selection of new cassettes, as well as the aforementioned incense and small range of crystals, this is a must-shop for any fan of the more 'spiritual'...

Surprisingly good selection of records. Even some really rare ones, the owner was very kind and recommended/played me bunch of stuff just according to my taste. 100% recommend if you are into vinyl digging and open to a wide range of genres (the store focuses mainly on idm/ambient/drone/techno but also has some dub, psychadelic rock, drum and bass, experimental noise music, etc...).
