Gojō-in Temple — Attraction in Kyoto

京都の人でも荒神口、荒神橋は知ってますが、その元がここの清荒神さんやと知らん人が多いですよ。本尊は火の神、竈神として祀られる三宝荒神尊で、「火の用心」「災難除け」にご利益があるとして人々の信仰を集めています。荒神尊は激しく祟りやすい性格を持つ一方、皮膚背の霊験があるとされ、如来荒神・麁乱荒神・忿怒荒神の三身を併せ持つといわれます。 開基は宝亀2年(722)で、光仁天皇の皇子である開成皇子が仏門にはいられ、勝尾山(今の大阪府箕面市)で修行中三宝荒神尊を感得され自らその姿を模刻し、日本で最初の荒神尊としてお祀りされました。慶長5年(1600)後陽成天皇により皇居守護のため現在地に移され、以後歴代天皇の篤い尊祟を受け、後東山天皇が御所の浄域を護ることから「護浄院」と命名され、現在も綿々と勅願所として国家の安寧・皇室安泰の祈願をし、皇室に御札を献上しています。洛陽三十三観音霊場の三番札所でもあります。 毎月28日は午後3時より本尊荒神尊宝前で荒神大護摩供奉修が行われます。Even people in Kyoto know Kojinguchi and Kojinbashi, but many people don't know that the origin is Kiyoshikojin. The principal image is the Sanpo Arajin, which is enshrined as the god of fire and the god of disaster, and is gaining the faith of people because it is beneficial for "beware of fire" and "preventing disasters." While Kojin-son has a violent and easy-to-worship personality, it is said that he has a spiritual test on the back of his skin, and is said to have three bodies: Nyorai Kojin, Ranran Kojin, and Haunting Kojin. Kaijo was founded in Houki 2 (722), when Emperor Konin's prince, Kaijo Prince, entered the Buddhist gate and was trained at Katsuo-ji (now Minoo City, Osaka Prefecture). It was engraved and enshrined as the first Kojin-son in Japan. After the 5th year of Keicho (1600), Emperor Goyosei moved to his present location to protect the Imperial Palace, and after that, he received the grave reverence of successive emperors, and was named "Gojoin" because Emperor Higashiyama protected the Imperial Palace. Even now, as a prayer place, we pray for the well-being of the nation and the security of the imperial family, and donate bills to the imperial family. We came today for our 2nd run of Rakuyo 33 tour and this temple is our last stop. According to their official website we should be able to get completion certification there ; however, the manager told us they don't provide it in a very impatient manner. Very frustrated about...

2023年3月20日に参拝しました。 本尊に日本最初の荒神尊「清三宝大荒神」を祀っていることで有名で、通称「清荒神(きよしこうじん)」と呼ばれており、山門に掲げられた赤い大きな提灯が目を惹きます。 荒神が本尊なので、「火の用心」「災難除け」にご利益があるほか、「かまどの神様」として護符を貼って火の守護神とされています。 また、境内は狭いですが、荒神堂の他、弁財天・准胝観音菩薩・不動明王・大聖歓喜天・薬師如来が一堂に祀られた諸尊堂などがあります。
