During our stay at the Kyoto Ritz Carlton, we had the pleasure of indulging in the exquisite offerings from Pierre Hermé. This patisserie specializes in macarons and croissants, both of which are nothing short of extraordinary.
Every morning, we started our day with their flaky and incredible croissants. They are perfectly baked and the ideal way to begin a day in Kyoto.
The macarons at Pierre Hermé are a highlight, featuring amazing and unique flavors. We particularly enjoyed the passionfruit chocolate macaron. Another standout was the Kyoto-specialized macaron with matcha, a must-try for matcha lovers. The assortment of flavors keeps you coming back for more. In addition to macarons, Pierre Hermé offers a variety of cakes and other pastries that are equally impressive.
The service here is exceptional. The staff is attentive and always willing to go the extra mile, asking if we needed ice and carefully packaging our purchases in beautifully designed boxes and bags. This attention to detail truly enhances the overall experience.

Read moreHave been a fan of Pierre Hermé macarons. Even more difficult to resist when the dessert store looks this beautiful.
Choices made: Jardin de Kyoto (Original), Earl Grey, Rose, Pistachio.
Taste: Earl Grey and Rose were wonderful, with fragrant aromas of the featured flavours. Pistachio was a let down - no pistachio flavour at all. Jardin de Kyoto was the most disappointing. Was told that’s the best and most popular flavour. It was a mishmash confusing concoction which did not deliver at all.
Service: Friendly, pleasant and efficient.
Atmosphere: Lovely. Would be better if there was dine in seating.
Selection: Many other dessert options other than their famous macarons. Am keen to try them...
