Ganko Takasegawa Nijo-en — Restaurant in Kyoto

Good evening! Today I was the second time in this restaurant. The food and dishes was good. But from the begging I asked: can you call to taxi, because I have a train. The woman said yes, I even translated all in Japanese language. She said: tell me before 10 min about taxi. I told. And in the end she didn’t call to taxi or called and nothing after. So I lost the train and the ticket to the train, hope I will reach the other train to Tokyo, the last one and won’t stay in Osaka. Thanks for the train I lost. Better to say from the begging, that you won’t call to taxi or that the taxi doesn’t work. First time I saw that the taxi was waiting for the other people who also visited this restaurant. This place deserves zero stars, not one - run from this place while you can, especially if you are a tourist! Went there for dinner just a few days ago and 1) there were ants crawling all over the tables, 2) they brought me the wrong drink and I had to argue with multiple people for them to make it right (by bringing the right drink, there was no discount or nicety to make up for their obtuseness) and 3) worst of all, the sushi was absolutely tasteless and had way too much wasabi on the sushi itself (hidden under the fish, shrimp, etc) just to overpower the palate and disguise the very poor quality of their food. All in all, this was on par with the worst tourist traps that I've experienced while traveling all over the world and was a stinky stain on an otherwise great experience everywhere...

The food was just bad. We arrived to our room with food on plates on the table with no explanation and had to flag someone down to get water and explain what the food was that we were about to eat. It had been sitting there a while and was not enjoyable. Course after course we had to ask for explanations and while we had some, the experience was challenging. Aside from below average food, the room we were placed in itself was dirty. The walls had what appeared to be dripping sauce on them. The garden was to be an attraction but no one suggested we spend some time before sunset, or even spoke to us much at all- the servers mostly just delivered food, removed plates and were not readily available.
