My wife and I used to live in San Diego and I used to frequent a ramen shop on Convoy called Tajima. That shop was the bar I set for myself when we moved to Colorado a few years back. We've tried multiple times to find ramen as good as Tajima in Colorado but nothing could even come close. This place has the best ramen I've had in at least 4 years and exceeds that bar I set. Initially, I thought there was no way we could have subpar ramen in Japan but I was wrong. We went to an undisclosed location in Akihabara that wasn't nearly as good compared to this ramen here at Tengu. The broth here (original Tengu ramen) is incredible, oily, fatty, and delicious. They provide mashed garlic, shichimi, and fresh green onion to add as toppings. The pork melts away as you try to grab it, and the bamboo shoots are perfect. The ramen here is very simple but so good. They have an english menu here, even though the outside of the shop does not indicate so. We both highly recommend this ramen shop...

Magnificent as expected the pork ramen had a very deep rich pork flavor. Rich and flavourful. Bloody excellent! Great size servings and plenty of pork on the bowl. I got first boiled gyoza as well as fried gyoza and then my friend had the original Tengu Ramen, we shared, just to confirm if it is really that good, and most definitely was, we loved it 😁 so guys getting full rating and recommending you to my list of top 50 places to eat in Kyoto!
