Absolutely phenomenal. From start to finish, Chef Yoshi prepared amazing dishes. I was very hungry, so I asked for recommendations. It started with the antipasto misto. Everything was fresh, delicious, and from local farms. Next was the spaghetti with firefly squid & herbal leaves. I thought it was strange at first, but once you get every element on your fork, it all comes together for a wonderful experience. I'm glad I went out of my comfort zone to try it. It was great!
I got the pork spare ribs for my main entree. They were very flavorful, but not too heavy. It For dessert, I got panna cotta with earl grey tea. The panna cotta was delightful and came with fresh strawberries to give it even more of a flavor boost. The earl grey was a fantastic way to finish as it warmed me up and and made me feel ready for the rest of the night.
Everything was phenomenal and made with fresh, local ingredients. I cannot recommend OASI enough. Thank you for an...
Read moreThe summer lunch menu thoughtfully presented dishes that were refreshing to the very last bite. Chef Yoshi started us off with a cornucopia of local vegetables and light proteins, each made to bring out its best flavors and textures. This was followed up with a simple chilled potage, which was so delicate, yet flavorful. Chef could tell we were up for trying everything on the menu, so they offered to split the two pasta options into smaller portions for my colleague and I so we could try both: a cucumber shirasu pasta and string bean, tomato, and house-made salsiccia. Did you know that string beans can come in yellow or purple colors? The cucumber shirasu had a surprisingly crisp texture that I really enjoyed, and the cucumber made it even more refreshing. For dessert, I curiously selected jasmine tea panna cotta with coffee which was my second best decision of the day, after deciding to travel a bit away from Kyoto center for this...
Read moreAbsolutely incredible dining experience. Chef worked prior at a Michelin star restaurant in New York City, and her skills are on full display at Oasi. The food is flavorful, diverse in content, and prepared fresh with locally sourced seasonal ingredients. The neighborhood was away from the big crowds and venue is a relaxed and chic in its design. Chef's knowledge of wine was a huge plus as she was able to suggest a few bottles of wine that paired perfectly with our selections. She also speaks great english as a perk for visitors from other countries. Thank you Chef Kaori, I can't wait...
