chouchou favori — Restaurant in Kyoto

My family and I were walking through the local area when we found this restaurant. It is currently entirely managed by only one man, and he was absolutely fantastic with both costumer service and cooking.

He had a disclaimer that the preparation period may take a while, and we were more than happy to sit and relax in the cheerful and cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. The food came out in a very timely manner, and was amazing. We loved every bite. I ordered the Teriyaki chicken, and highly recommend it. I also ordered dessert - chocolate cake - which was fantastic. I wish I could’ve gotten seconds.

I highly recommend more people visit this restaurant - the owner is kind and hardworking, and clearly has a gift for cooking. Foreigners should know that there is only a Japanese menu available, so use a translation app...

This is a really unique and surprisingly large café with a tiny door, genuinely felt like we were stepping in to somebody’s living room with how warm and welcoming it was! Even on a cold December night there was a large heater and lots of blankets to go around.

I got the Apple tart with chai tea and although it wasn’t super cheap, the taste was really delicious and you could feel the home-made touch.

What made this cafe experience even more unique was the amount of movie posters too - it was so fun just walking around and checking them out, and they are updated with the latest releases.

Will not forget about this cafe for a long time!!...

A cozy machiya that server comforting food at affordable price. The set meals come with a salad and a soup.

One of their best seller is the hamburger steak which I agree is really tasty. I also tried their teriyaki chicken which is really good! They have some famous dessert which can be sold out so don't be disappointed and go early!

For a machiya, the restaurant is quite big, so it can fit...
