It's pretty good, comfortable and many power outlets with WiFi. Coffee is okay and the curry is also okay. However 3 negative points would make us not return.
Smoking is allowed, fair enough, but not good for a non-smoker. The owner was pretty passive-aggressive when we were leaving, telling us next time we shouldn't stay for long as they "ban studying for a long time", roughly translated. We stayed for 4 hours working on our laptops. We ordered 4 coffees and 2 curries, the place wasn't busy. It's his choice, but other reviews implied it was a good place to work for a while. Cockroach on the table. Hard to manage, but not great in a food...
Read moreEnjoyed the atmosphere of this cafe very much. We walked here from the imperial palace, a bit of a walk, and onto a street that does not look like it would have a coffee shop. Listened to jazz music ( they have quite a collection of music ) and had siphon style coffee, which we like very much. A bit Smokey inside, as they allow smoking throughout the shop.... I don’t smoke but my partner does, so we found a table near the back where the fan pulls the air outside, so not really too bad at all. Overall, I highly recommend this place for very good coffee and old coffee house style...

One of the greatest coffees in Kyoto crafted each with great care. Has a great array of hot alcohol drinks like Irish Coffee, or the fantastic Rum Cow. Laptop friendly with sockets and WiFi. Chill ambience and great music. English menu. Has a tiny Japanese garden in the back, and shows films on Tuesday nights for free :)...
