What a fantastic experience! From the moment we walked in, we felt the attention paid to offer excellent service and food. The meal starts with a cup of savory Sakura tea, a perfect match with the bloom that can be seen outside the window from the second floor seating. Founded in 1899 (Meiji Year 22), this restaurant boasts over 120 years of history. Its signature dish, the “Teoke Bento,” is nothing short of a work of art. Designed by the second-generation owner, it features seasonal fresh ingredients meticulously prepared and served in handcrafted wooden buckets made by Living National Treasure Nakagawa Kiyoshi. It’s a feast of seasonal flavors and heartfelt craftsmanship! At first, I wondered what could be special about a bento, but after tasting it, I realized no extravagant or exotic ingredients could compare to the simple beauty of fresh seasonal produce.
As for dessert, the soufflé スフレ, though originally a French invention, is a perfect balance—not overly sweet like its Western counterparts. The rich aroma of eggs lingers on the palate, leaving a lasting impression.
