平成12年（2000年）に開設。建築は、昭和5年（1930年）に京都市公会堂東館として建てられ、昭和35年（1960年）からは京都会館別館として用いられてきまた。その後平成12年（2000年）に、建物の和風な外観を保全しながら、内部を全面改修し京都市美術館別館としてオープンした。主に、美術団体による展覧会等が開催されており、様々な展示を楽しむことができます。 （出典：京都市観光協会）

小学生の孫の絵が展示されたりします。 昔は京都会館別館でした。 Opened in 2000. The building was constructed in 1930 as the East Wing of Kyoto City Public Hall, and was used as the Kyoto Kaikan Annex from 1960. In 2000, the interior was completely renovated while preserving the Japanese-style exterior of the building, and it was opened as the Kyoto Municipal Museum of Art Annex.
