I stopped by on a Friday night and was completely shocked at how amazing this basement gem is! I had pork katsu and beef curry and a glass of hot wine for dinner and their chocolate cake and whiskey for dessert. The atmosphere is super cozy with plants, guitars, and twinkle lights. The owners are extremely gracious and welcoming and ready with a recommendation and a smile. The food itself is amazing, one of the best I had in Kyoto. The katsu curry was juicy and perfectly crispy. The chocolate cake melted in my mouth and paired perfectly with the whiskey they recommended.

I had the entire place to myself when I was there, which made it feel all the more welcoming and homey. The cherry on top is that they player records while we were there. This is a travelers dream- a hidden gem with amazing food and atmosphere. I will definitely come back the next time I...

Great food Great service Wonderful vibe.

My spouse and I went for a night time stroll and happened to stumble upon this great find. You walk down the stairs and are immediately wrapped up in the cozy vibe of the decor. The service was immediate and extremely friendly and welcoming. We shared a plate of some of the best fried chicken I've ever had with a couple delicious craft beers. We were lucky enough to arrive during a Friday vinyl night, where the bar encourages you to select a vinyl from their collection or bring your own from home. It was quite adorable to watch a few locals proudly offer up their favorite records for the rotation. After seeing our enjoyment towards the music, the friendly staff offered to play an album I mentioned only in passing. Definitely a memorable night to...

We were craving curry and landed on this place as it was down the street from where we were staying. The place is kind of tucked away and easy to miss if you're not looking for it. It's tucked into a basement hence the name. The staff was friendly and the vibe was cool. It has a rock cafe theme to it with guitars hanging on the wall, classical rock playing in the background with a screen projector playing a concert. I'd easily bring a group of friends to share a few drinks here. Lastly, the food was pretty good. My brother and I cleared our plates. I ended up getting the curry shrimp. The curry was flavorful, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. My brother ended up getting the pork curry and said the same. I highly recommend if you're...
