This place was so amazing! We were staying close by and I just wanted a simple little café breakfast, so I decided to check this spot out. I also love cats (like… a lot), so that was already a bonus! I saw good reviews and pictures of the food that looked delicious—but what I wasn’t expecting was for it to taste SO much better than the photos. Seriously, nothing could do it justice. I wish I took more photos, but everything was devoured before we even had the chance.
There’s one lady who runs the whole place (the owner) and she makes all the food and drinks herself. We tried the pancakes, a couple of the sandwiches, the egg-and-toast plate, and quite a few of the drinks. Everything was incredible, and we ended up going back multiple days because it was just that good.
If you’re looking for a cozy little café where you can sit back, relax, and enjoy amazing food and drinks, this is it. I’d definitely recommend stopping by on your trip!
P.S.A. The cats aren’t always out! The first time we went they weren’t around, so just keep that in mind if you’re hoping to see them. But if you do get lucky, they’re super sweet.
Oh! And this place is CASH ONLY! There’s a Lawson about 0.4 miles away with an ATM in case you forget cash (like I did the...

I was also amazed at how affordable it was to eat here, I would have paid double for the experience. We went back a few times while we were in Kyoto and were sad to see it closed one day due...
Read moreIncredibly cozy cafe in Kyoto that serves delicious food. We got the coconut curry, the spicy pepper chicken, the egg and bacon sandwich, the waffle (w/ ice cream) and the french toast.
Overall this experience is just like a home cooked meal, with the owner cooking everything upon request, things move slightly slowly, but it gives you time to reflect on your day and the quaint interior. An incredible enjoyable home cooked meal 8000 miles away from home (wallace and gromit on repeat definitely added to the...
