It has nothing to do with youkai. It is a shrine of Onmyodo that enshrines the god who controls the direction. It is said that Emperor Kanmu solicited Shogun Hoshigami to protect the royal castle in 794 (Enryaku 13). The shrine was rebuilt in the first year of the Showa era with the Gongen eight-building structure. There are 80 statues of the general god (Important Cultural Property) and the ancient ephemeris materials of the Abe family onmyodo (prefectural text) in the Hodokuden. It is a god who protects against evil. Visiting the Shinsou is from May 1st to 5th and November 1st to 5th. Please contact us on other days. Built: 794 (Enryaku 13). At the "Hodokuden", a treasure hall built in the shrine precincts, 77 statues of Daishogun Hachijo, a cultural property of demand, and materials of the Onmyodo ancient ephemeris, a cultural property of the prefecture, are displayed. On the third Sunday of October, the General Festival will be held.

Got here on the 203 bus route, which stopped right outside the gate. It’s a little away from the tourist area, but if you want to come somewhere away from the bustle of tourists this is the place for you. As there are no other attractions in area it is less busy. Quite imposing gates hit you in this mainly residential area. Early morning and late evening are particularly good times to visit.
