E㎜エミリ — Restaurant in Matsumoto

A small counter-only restaurant run by the lovely owner Emily. The restaurant offers vegan options and is known for its vegetable-based dishes (see photo: menu subject to change depending on the season as of August 21, 2025). I visited on a weekday evening as a single adult male. There were two other groups at the counter: a woman and a couple of foreign travelers. The Italian couple mentioned they visit daily during their stay in Matsumoto. Apparently, many inbound travelers frequent the place. When asked why such a hidden gem is so popular, they explained it appears at the top of English Google searches. Makes sense. The shop offers a variety of rare alcoholic beverages selected by the owner, including Manchin Craft Beer. It’s a place where you can enjoy drinks even during the day. Of course, soft drinks and herbal teas are also available. If I ever have the opportunity to visit Matsumoto again, I would definitely like to stop by this shop. Payment is by cash or PayPay. Such an amazing and personable restaurant. Emily is so kind and made amazing food. It felt like visiting a friend. It's a special place.
