What a beautiful little cafe and the food 😙🤌 the usuyaki and perilla were so delicious this morning that we came back for lunch! Breakfast I had the potato, japanese leek and miso usuyaki and the chocolate, banana and marshmallow perilla (came to 400 yen!!) Then came back for lunch and had the pasta, with soup salad and a drink... and another perilla (came to 1700 yen - nearly £9 for all.. unheard of in the UK for this standard!!) The owners are so friendly and lovely.. we will be back tomorrow morning before we leave ☺️ It has been our favourite meal in Japan so far!!

We came upon this cute little place by accident but it was terrific! The host was very friendly and spoke English. He sources many of the ingredients from his farm. The main fare were a unique dish, Usuyaki, to Matsumoto so we had to try them. We weren’t disappointed. We also ordered a soup, pickles and salad. All wonderful. The ambience of the place was great and the interaction sincere. He asked us to write our name and home town on a tiny card which we then pinned to a world map from where we came. It was great!

He was kind to explain the different varieties that he sells. It was so yummy that I got another one. The price was reasonable. The store is set up nicely and their are even chargers for use while eating there. Also the store has wifi making it an all around great place to stop for a snack whole exploring.

We had the set dinner. It was the vegetables and freshness we were craving after weeks of dining out. The vegetable soup with chicken broth is simple but so tasty. The salad is farm fresh vegetable goodness. The usuyaki was so good. I had the chocolate walnut. My partner had the sweet bean. The pickles were also straight from the farm and delicious. We enjoyed it so much we came twice. The second night we had pumpkin and cheese usuyaki and took some to go for our early morning breakfast. Highly recommend if looking for a healthy, light...

We had dinner here on Monday night and they have an English menu. We had the set meal with curry usuyaki and it was all delicious. The soup was a vegetable chicken and my daughter ate hers and mine. The coleslaw was simple and great, and the pickled zucchini were sweet! I had the ginger ale (unfiltered and fantastic) and my daughter had the ume soda, the ume at the end was sweet and tangy, much better than mine at home! We got a few for tomorrow for our drive to our next place. If we come back to Matsumoto on another trip we will...
