What a find! Having walked Matsumoto all day we were really keen for a relaxed evening enjoying good food and most critically, fantastic wine. Wine lovers will be so impressed with the by the glass offerings here - we had some knock out Chablis, including a 1er Cru then moved onto a number of brilliant reds including a lovely gamay and a beaujolais. Started all of this off with a rose cremant from Jura which was a delight. Alongside the wine, we enjoyed a number of fantastic dishes too. Menu was in Japanese and so my ordering was led by Google Translate of the menu board alongside pointing to the orders of those around us. Particularly good dishes included - the rilette, the sausage and cauliflower, chicken wings and pate. We were made to feel so welcome here and loved our spot in the middle of the counter. We didn’t book but please note we were stood outside waiting from 5.45pm and wouldn’t have got in without that (or a booking). Fantastic evening and will long be a great memory for us! Note it’s cash only so I had to nip down the road to pay the bill (I should have asked...
