This place is such a diamond in the rough. The menu is in Japanese, but you can easily translate with Google lens. The waitress was incredibly kind and spoke enough English to help us order. There isn’t a single thing we didn’t love. The radico wine was yummy. The antipasto was fantastic! The 3 pastas we ordered were delicious. Noodles cooked al dente. The chef studied in Italy for 4 years. If you are craving Italian food look no further.
The only caveat is if you’re pressed for time, do not come here. You will definitely have a very European slow dinner. Why? Because everything is so fresh!
The pumpkin pasta with sausage was unreal! Every bite was divine. The cacio pepe was delicious. Definitely try the 33 month aged ham from Matsumoto. The waitress gets 6 stars! She was lovely. Dishes are averaging 1500-2000 yen. Wine is more 3000-4500 for...
Read moreAfter much research on restaurants in Matsumoto, I’m so glad I’ve decided to dine at Vieni Vieni. Roma pasta cacio e pepe was very well made, as delicious as the one I had in Rome. Awaji island squid ink pasta was so aromatic and full of flavour. The Marchigiano ragu tagliatelle was so delicately crafted from many ingredients. I loved my amaro cocktail as well.
The wonderful lady who looked after us was so lovely, kind and attentive. She helped made our dining experience very enjoyable. The chef was so kind to have greeted us before we left. We appreciated a wonderful and memorable dinner at Vieni...

There is one chef in a tiny kitchen so it takes a bit of time to get your food but we didn't mind - good food is worth the wait. We sat at the counter (we lucked out to get a seat so you may want to make a reservation) and shared the cacio e pepe and pork. The menu is only in Japanese (we used Google translate) but the waitress/hostess spoke great English so can help with any questions. Service was great, ambience really nice and food was...
