Yoshitake Shokudo — Restaurant in Matsushima

Yesterday we found this little place as we came out from Matsushima Kaigan Station. Luckily we got a table at noon and the owner told us to come back in 30 minutes. It was one of the best and most authentic culinary experience. Matsushima oyster is so juicy and flavourful and it was so hard to believe 40 minutes all you can eat own grilled oyster for 999yen, even though you have to order one drink and VAT is additional. My hubbi got a draft beer and I had warmed sake. There is warmed amazake if you prefer non alcohol. Later I saw other places like 50 minutes for 2300YEN. 30 minutes ride from Sendai -hopefully to try this place. Under very hot sun we waiting. Lady welcome us but they cannot communicate any in English- it’s OK. However, once we said we wanna try their ¥999 oyster a man coming and said nothing but no. It’s really ridiculous way I’ve ever seen in Japan. Many dining don’t even ever able to speak English but they still keep on trying to make a best afford of service. This place don’t.

Was just walking from the JR Matsushimakaigan station when I chanced upon this small store with people lining eating on the street. They sell oysters and meat/gyutan(?) barbecue. Order 2 pcs grilled oysters for only ¥390. They will grill the fresh oysters upon order. The oysters were very plump and very delicious just add abit off citrus tasting soy sauce.
