Gorgeous caffeine at the 52nd stage of the Nagoya JR Tower. Little trick. You need to take the lift near the golden click of Nagoya station JR tower and go to the 12th floor and switch to another lift to go to the 51st floor (and there is a 1/4 stage stair with about 5 or 6 stept to get to the entrance of this place (for some reason it is called 52nd stage)). The place is not too big, and to get a window seat during rush time can take several hours. In not very busy days it can be very easy. For special occasions, I suggest trying to make reservation in advance. They offers some coffee and tea options. Some very nice desserts and a few small meals. All is served with nice looking cutlery and ceramics from international brands. With gread and cordial servers. Many of the staff speaks English too. And the most important, you enjoy it all and the time with a breath taking view of Nagoya station surrounding from the top of this building. Sure it will cost a little more than a normal place, but it is the price of all this environment. A coffee vienois, for example may cost about 800 yens. In Starbucks it can cost around 500. If you want some sets, the price of each piece will drop. For special occasions it is a...
Read moreThis cafe is located on the 51st floor of Takashimaya JR Nagoya Station. We went here as soon as the Takashimaya mall opened at 10:00am, then we head on to the elevator to ride up on the 12th floor. From there, you can transfer from the other elevator that goes up to the 51st floor.
Even though it is very early, there are already some customers inside the cafe. When we entered the cafe, we chose the window seat on the right side since we brought our suitcases with us.
Since the lunch menu can only be ordered from 11:00am, I instead ordered spaghetti peperoncino chicken and matcha kakigori. My mom ordered spaghetti of shrimp & broccoli and strawberry kakigori.
The food is sumptuous, and the price for each item is quite understandable because of its location. The view of Nagoya cityscape while enjoying your food is undeniably spectacular and it is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. I recommend this place as a dating spot and for celebrating...
Read moreOne of the must visit if and when you are in nagoya. Its on the 51st floor and what a magnificent view of nagoya city from this vantage point. Getting there is a challenge as you need to switch lifts to get here. If not sure as the help desk and they are very helpful indeed. There is a queue to get in but there are seats outside for those waiting in line, at times feel like playing musical chairs as you keep shifting seats nearer to the entrance. Dont be discouraged with the queue but be prepared to wait at least 30 mins which we did. Ask the server for a window seat which is a must to admire the scenery from this high point. Sunset is the best time as you see the changes in the sky color from bluish to deep orange. The waffle is ok, we ordered 2 different types and they are still yummy. Drinks are soso but the view obscures the soso drinks. All in its a...
