HARBS — Restaurant in Nagoya

I think I set too much expectation from reading many blogs, reviews in You2be and Google when I tagged this bakery cake as a plan to go place in my Google map. And I finally noticed my expectation did not meet at all when I visited for my desserts.

First, the customer service was not welcomed and staffs at the front were all busy to host all take-out customers only.. When I walked in, I noticed a information board shows a sign to wait in a right hand side. So I kept waiting in about 20 mins in the right hand-side for someone to take us to a table, but no body came up to host me although there were plenty of tables available. In the end, I had to call for one of staffs as some patrons behind me tried to jump the line from the takeout queue-line.

Second, when I got a table, I noticed a small notice board that anyone older than 6years are advised(?) to order 1 drink per a person although I ordered 3 cakes! Drinks were a bit pricy in comparison with its quality - This made a perfect sense that this bakery seems to run a good business margin from not fame of scrumptious cakes but selling drinks.

3rd, I ordered 3 different cakes - strawberry cake, White chocolate cake and Tiramisu. These were just decent and nothing but typical ones. Coffees were no tasty not worth to pay for $$

Last, I still don’t get a reason why this bakery is recommended in social media. It does not look fancy nor showing a good customer service at all - I have nothing but felt this cafe seemed to try to benchmark something luxury version of bakery cafe, but it does not look like..

This is my opinion but I wanted to share a fact from how and what I experienced.

Delicious Cakes and Sandwiches!

This Harbs store is a fantastic spot for both cakes and sandwiches. Their cakes are fresh, light, and full of flavor—especially the fruit ones! But what surprised me most were their sandwiches. They’re just as amazing, made with fresh ingredients and great attention to detail.

The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff are always friendly. Whether you’re looking for a sweet treat or a savory bite, this place is a must-visit in Nagoya....

同じ「ハーブス」でも、ラシック店は久々。 入店すると、直ぐ窓際の席に。 全面に亘る硝子越しに、前面にはセントラルパークの木立。 大好きな欅の瑞々しい新緑が美しい。 今日は雨に濡れている為か、一段と映える。 栄エリアでは、本店は 同じ２Fだが、レイヤードの関係で 以前より木々が目減りしたし、松坂屋店は８Fなので 窓際迄近づいて見下ろさないと、緑が多いと云ふ実感は湧かず。 ビューロケーション的には 本支店で一番か。 予め 苺の、チョコケーキか 普通のケーキか迷っていたが、以前 別のハーブスで店員さんに訊いたところ、どちらも苺の量其の物は ほぼ同じとの事だったので、前者をセレクト。 いつものミルク珈琲と共に、美味しく戴く。ヴィタミンCも 苺のおかげでたつぷり戴く。

2022.12/10…先週、ハーブスへ苺のケーキを食べに来る筈が、途中のショコラトリに浮気？してしまったので、仕切り直しの本日。 11:00前でも 相変はらず待ち人行列際限無い本店を尻目に、ってか横目にラシックへ。 どっちみち 本店以外でも食べれるケーキ故、本店は 初めから回避する予定だったが。 何はともあれ、ティータイムを楽しむ。

2023.7/1…昔から １年に１度は、フレッシュフルーツケーキを食べているつもりだが、グーグルマップの ラシック店＆松坂屋店への自分の投稿をチェックしても、出て来ない（本店では、本店限定のケーキしか食べない）。 食べても アップし忘れたのか、はたまた、いつの間にか 表示されなくなったのか？。 取り敢へず、件のケーキを味わふ。

11/5…松坂屋南館へ行ったは いいが、はやばやと 其処のハーブスの空席待ち数人故、急遽 同館の「シェコーベ」で、スウィーツした後。 時間的＆地理的要因を考慮、ラシックへ。 共に 最上階から１Ｆ下の、「 Love Cheese 」（現在は閉業らしい）と「 To The Herbs 」、どちらでランチするか 迷ひつつ、11:00のオープンを入口で待つ。 そんな私の頭に浮かんだ 禁断の？選択肢。 即ち、２Ｆのハーブスでの 連続スウィーツ。 先程 コーベで、苺ショートをセレクトせず、やや？くどいヴァニーユ故、プチ後悔。 其れでも、本日のメイン目当ての ブラック＆ホワイトチョコケーキに ありつき、心の中で ちょっぴり落涙の思い。

12/10…季節のケーキのうち、上記のB＆Wケーキに替わり、此の度 ホワイトチョコと扁桃（アーモンド）のケーキが...
