One of the most heartwarming experiences I’ve encountered in Japan, literally and figuratively!

As someone who’s only gotten into tea recently, I loved how Matsumoto-san explained in detail the process of making tea - from the nuance in pouring hot water over the tea leaves to how keeping it there for different amounts of time provides different results. There are lots of different leaves to choose from as well as we ordered kaori-komachi and kuki-hojicha (I prefer hojicha in general but I loved both!). The daifuku and hojicha cheesecake were exquisite, really good pairings to our tea of choice. After we finished our order, he even gave us a round of complimentary tea to cap off the amazing experience.

The tea and food were 10/10, but the level of service is what will make one come back to Mirume. Matsumoto-san and his staff are the epitome of Japanese hospitality, where going above and beyond for the customer is standard. They make people they’ve never met before really feel at home. He even went out of his way to leave us a note in our language telling us to enjoy our stay in Japan. That said, one can tell that they really love what they do. Their passion for tea easily rubs off on their customers and it shows in the level of service they provide and quality of tea they serve.

This is one of the highlights of our trip to Nagoya and when we go back to the city in the future, this will be the first place we will visit. Meccha oishii, subarashii...

This is an amazing tea shop! The owner is so kind ,it couldn’t be better. I only wanted to use the toilet, but I realized I had found the best place I could possibly be. I ordered tea, and the kind owner spent time with me, teaching me about tea culture. How it’s made, grown, and brewed. Incredible.

I only ordered one tea, but he offered me samples, including his best tea, 千寿 (Senju). This is the best tea I’ve ever had in my life. I never knew tea could taste this good! It’s the kind of tea that Japanese Emperors once drank. Truly amazing.

Please visit, support this wonderful man, and buy some tea. I will definitely be back. I regret not buying more tea! Thank you, Sir, and much...

Simply... EXCEPTIONAL!!!

The store is run by brother and sister - they sell the tea from their family tea farm (not sure that's the correct term!?).

They let me try multiple teas and I bought almost all of them 🙈 Never had such exceptional tea (and it's my second time in Japan!). I didn't fully appreciate one of their most premium teas when brewed hot, but he also brewed it with ice to make me try the difference of taste between the two brewing methods and WOW, simply WOW! Really long after taste. I'm really looking forward to enjoy it at home following his instructions (that he...

Walked by this cute shop and just give it a try. The shop is petite and comfortable. The young owners/staff are very professional and provided good service. They speak basic English but the English menu and instructions are very clear. Tried Senju and Shinryoku and live it! The last cup with roasted brown rice was superb! They run out of green tea cheese cake. So we tried the hojicha , it's good! Would recommend this shop whenever in Nagoya city. Cafe is at 1st floor (walk up) and the ground floor is shop selling tea leaves.
