Kikkou Hanare — Restaurant in Nagoya

I had my best dining experience in Japan so far at Kikkou Hanare. Not only was the sushi absolutely outstanding — every dish was unique, delicate, and beautifully made and presented — but the staff were also incredibly charming, attentive, and funny. The three of them created such a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Although I don’t really speak Japanese, they made a real effort to explain the ingredients and the types of fish to me. While I was there, the other guests were also very kind and warm. We talked and laughed a lot — it felt like having dinner with friends, even though I’m just a foreign tourist.

It was truly impressive to watch the chef prepare sushi live, right in front of your eyes.

Every dish was amazing, but I was especially blown away by the shrimp sushi with the sauce made from shrimp heads — so, so good!

The chef was friendly! Would recommend knowing some Japanese in order to understand menu and what the chef is saying. Each piece of sushi was delicious and fresh. The lunch course comes with ~10pieces of sushi but you can order a la carte at the end. I will try their dinner course next time I visit. 20년 동안 1년에 3~4번은 일본을 오가며 많은 식사를 했지만, 이제는 가장 즐거운 기억을 떠올리라면 이곳이 가장 먼저 생각날 것 같습니다.

위치가 큰 역이나 번화가에 있지는 않지만, 주변 풍경을 느끼며 걷는 재미가 있어 여유 있게 산책하면서 방문하면 멀게 느껴지지 않을 거예요.

일본어를 못해도 쉐프님이 재료를 한국어로 설명해 주시지만, 이런 가게의 진정한 매력은 쉐프님과 다른 손님들과의 즐거운 대화에서 나온다고 생각합니다. 일본어를 능숙하게 하지는 못하지만, 서로 이해하려고 노력하는 것 자체가 즐거운 경험이었어요.

처음에는 혼자 방문해서 긴장했지만, 쉐프님들과 점원분들, 그리고 다른 손님들까지 자연스럽게 어울려 식사할 수 있도록 배려해 주셔서 정말 즐거운 기억으로 남았습니다.

스시의 맛에 대해서는 제가 음식 평론가는 아니기에 샤리나 식감에 대해 구체적으로 표현할 순 없지만, 입이 짧고 무슨 음식이든 맛없게 먹는다고 핀잔을 받는 저조차도 코스 끝까지 모든 메뉴를 남김없이 즐겁게 먹었고, 먹을 때마다 눈이 번쩍 뜰 정도로 정말 맛있었습니다.

나고야에 올 때마다 꼭 들러야 할 장소가 생겨서 기쁩니다 XD 다음에는 가족과 함께 방문할 예정입니다! 즐거운 추억을 만들어 주셔서 감사합니다!

그리고 점원분의 "코도모노 아가쨩"이 아직도 생각나, 지금도 웃음 짓게 하며 이 리뷰를 작성하고 있습니다.

20年もの間、年に3～4回は日本に行ったり来たりして食事をする中で、一番楽しかった思い出を思い浮かべると、今はここが一番最初に頭に浮かびます。

場所は大きな駅や繁華街にあるわけではありませんが、周りの景色を感じながら歩くのが楽しいので、ゆったりと散歩しながら訪れるなら、それほど遠くは感じないでしょう。

日本語ができなくても、シェフが食材について韓国語で説明してくれますが、やはりこういうお店の醍醐味は、シェフやお客さんと楽しい会話をすることにあるのではないでしょうか。日本語が得意というわけではありませんが、お互いに理解しようと努力すること自体が楽しい経験です。

一人で訪れ、最初は緊張しましたが、シェフもスタッフも他のお客さんも自然に一緒に食事ができるように配慮してくださり、とても楽しい思い出になりました。

寿司の味については、私は食評論家ではないので、シャリがどうだとか食感がどうだとか具体的に表現することはできませんが、食が細く、何でも美味しく食べないと言われる私が、コースを終えるまで全てのメニューを残さず美味しく楽しめ、食べるたびに目が大きく開くほど、個人的には本当に美味しかったと思います。

名古屋に来たときに必ず立ち寄る場所ができて嬉しいですXD...
