I ordered MisoKatsu Duo It was delicious! The pork was incredibly tender, and the outside was nice and crispy. The Loin cut was tastier than the Fillets. The Miso sauce has a slight sweetness to it, and paired with mustard, it was fantastic!
What I really liked was the presentation idea—made me feel like I was dining in a fine dining restaurant!
The service at every level was impressive
It started with an appetizer of bread and some cheese, which was delicious. Then came pickled vegetables For the Miso Katsu, they poured the sauce right at the table. As for drinks, I went with ginger ale. They served it in a glass that looked like this 🥂... It felt quite extravagant!
To finish off, we had dessert—yogurt ice cream. It was tasty, but I wished there was a bit more of it. It was served alongside some hot tea.
Overall, it’s a fantastic restaurant, especially in terms of service and meal presentation.
However, if we're just comparing flavors, I still prefer another restaurant a bit more.
There is no English menu (and no pictures, either), but the staff speaks English quite well
The wait time was a bit long (For lunch: around 40 minutes...
Read moreUtterly outstanding, 4 course menu that includes a snack (cheese crisp), a tiny vegetable appetizer which made me double back when i had the smoked peas (fantastic smokey flavor).
This was followed by the optional add on, a black truffle laced potatoe croquette that blew me away, such intense flavors of both truffle and buttery potato.
Finally, the main course came, a mix of loin and cutlet. Sauce was provided on the plate separately, in that sense maybe not a traditional misokatsu as how to keep the cutlet crisp cooking in the sauce is the mark of a good misokatsu or not, but nonetheless, this was astounding. Still lightly pink (okay in japan only), the pork was so flavorful and tender, and the accompanying sauce was also umami rich and lovely. Worth mentioning is even the cabbage salad dressing was pretty sublime.
This ends with a yogurt sorbet to cleanse your palate. Vibe and atmosphere was classy, but the space is small, and they prioritized comfort so they didnt cram in seats, but also means if you dont have a reservation, you might need to...
Read moreThis place was recommended by a friend who came by a few weeks ago. I arrived at about 5 minutes before opening time at 5pm and got a seat immediately without reservation!
It was a 3-4 course meal, with a cheese biscuit, a ginger and zucchini pairing for apps, the main course came with salad, miso soup and rice (from Hokkaido). The appetisers were all amazing palate cleansers that complemented the meal very well :) The sauce that came with the salad was very unique and refreshing too. The soup was unlike any miso soup that I've had previously and the strong flavours were really quite interesting.
I got the loin and fillet set for dinner, and my friend got the one with miso.
I usually prefer the loin to the fillet when eating tonkatsu, but this was surprisingly good!
The miso was abit sweet to my liking, but it was definitely one of the better renditions to other miso tonkatsus that I've had previously.
Super yummy, will definitely...
