NIGIRI NO TOKUBE @ OASIS 21 — Restaurant in Nagoya

I'm not giving this place a four star review because I feel like the food was not up to par, but it's sushi in Japan. Giving a sushi restaurant five stars in Japan is like trying to give a five star taco rating in Mexico, it's nearly impossible to draw the line.

Although, I will say this is the best conveyor belt sushi I've ever had. Sushi boats and conveyor belts hold a special place in my heart. When you're on a date, or solo dining, it's really hard to enjoy sushi. Whenever people order at a regular restaurant they receive 6-10 pieces of what they order, making it almost impossible to get a large variety.

Here, you can try all kinds of sushi without over eating a particular type because sushi doesn't hold well in the fridge. I can't overstate how fun it is to grab a little bit of everything or try something new just because you have the chance.

Reasonable Quality at Fair Prices.

That's my basic assessment of this place. The sushi doesn't have the wow factor in terms of its texture or sense of freshness but it's good enough for those without experience of much better quality sushi at other places in Japan, where similar prices can get you mouthwatering pieces of ocean goodness.

Service here is excellent and seating is comfortable. I was there before the peak hour lunch crowd on a Saturday so the queue was quite short. About 10-15 minutes wait at 11:30am.

There doesn't seem to be a sushi culture here in Nagoya as the density of sushi restaurants are quite light compared to Tokyo or Osaka. Hence, there isn't many places to choose from if one wants to have a meal. There are the usual self run shops about but those are often very...

A better than I expected experience.

Sushi masters and waitress are friendly aged people. All dishes are great and fresh! Made with true experience and enthusiasm.

Shop isn’t spacious, expected to queue a bit for peak hours. I came here off-peak, so not a problem. Once entered, get the ticket from the machine (english translation available) choosing the group size and where to sit (bar table or table beside the conveyor belt).

Good value for money.
