Yanagibashi Kitaro (Nagoya Yanagibashi Market store) — Restaurant in Nagoya

From the moment I walked in... There was a feeling of welcoming.

I asked the chef if they had menus in English even though I know most of the names of sushi in Japanese. He immediately said "Yes, please take a seat."

I had a horrible experience at the nearby Furari Sushi and this was a reprieve.

Matcha beer?? I had to try it.. You have to try it. Freaky and yet very good.

Anyway.. back to the sushi. I ordered Otoro, Botan Shrimp, Simple Tobiko gunkan, Engawa (flounder fin), negitoro with Natto. Everything was gooooood.

I've already marked it on my Google map to return to on my next trip to Nagoya. That's...

美味しいお寿司をいただくには、難あり空間だと感じました。私なら人は連れて行けません。

入店時から首を傾げたくなるシーンは多かったです。入ってすぐ座りたい席を聞かれて、空いているように見えたので、ではカウンターで、とお願いしたら、別の店員さんが「え…」みたいなリアクションをしたり。

通したい席があるなら最初からそっち通せばいいのに、と思いながら、他でも結構ですよ、と伝えれば、「いえ、お好きな席でどうぞ」と言われるし。どっち。

席に座れば、メニューも開かないうちから、最初の飲み物やら食べ物やら、注文を急かされる。店長さんも「あれもこれも出来ますが、決めてくれないと!」といった調子で捲し立てる。まだ席について5分も経ってないのに、なんとなく決めないこちらが悪いような気分に…笑
