An locally renowned open-style seafood restaurant which is located within a wet market complex right next to the city centre of Nagoya.
They offer valued set lunch at the lunch time and become an izakaya(restaurant and bar) at the dinner time. All of the seafood dishes is with exceptional quality, taste at affordable price, probably the best we have ever had among all the market restaurants we have visited in Japan. There should be no worries about food hygiene, as we have visited for two successive days and we were doing perfectly in our entire journey.
Fo the service experience, we are impressed that everything was carried out in a well-organised manner. We arrived at 11:00 a.m. at the weekend, just about their opening time and there were plenty of tables available. We first asked the staff for a table for two and we can choose any table we want. Each table can accomodate up to 6 customers and is with an ipad for order and bill. Besides the multiple language menu on the ipad, there are also a set of bilingual menu in paper form. Every menu is with photos of the dishes, which is very much alike to the actual food we had.
To check the bill, simply tap the check option on the ipad first, then go to the register machine at the front door of the restaurant and put your notes and coins into it, and you can get the change.
About queuing, we saw all table were full 45 minutes after opening. If waiting is needed, you can register your name and number of people onto the writing board on the stainless table near to the main entrance of the wet market, and the staff will call your name when your table is ready.

Read moreInside the Marunaka Food Center in Yanagibashi Central Market, there is a small but very popular seafood restaurant that has desks and chairs set up in the aisle. As it was late for lunch, I was miraculously able to enter the store without waiting.
I ordered a sashimi and fried set meal. I drank self-service green tea while waiting. Put the powdered tea on the table in a teacup and pour hot water. It was a bright green color.
Both sashimi and fried are excellent. As expected, the shops in the market are fresh and delicious! Rice and miso soup can be refilled for free once per person. I'm full. There are many other menus that I want to try, and I always come to eat them again, so I recommend them...

First store (it literally says Teru Teru in Japanese), seats are laid out around. There's an iPad to place order on, you'll have to press "checkout" and someone will come over with the payment chit to make payment at the counter. Very digital
The food is great! We got the salmon don (it was in Japanese on the iPad app despite translation but just look at the photos) and the sashimi set - super yummy and fresh.
Oh and they give warm towels...
