Found a little gem! The meat (ordered shrimp, chicken, squid, pork, and beef) was all tender and juicy. The favourite was the katsu sandwich - crisp toasted bread with juicy katsu - the flavour was delicious. The customer service was brilliant. Despite the language barrier, the owners (a clearly well-oiled machine of a husband and wife team) worked in harmony and attended to our requests attentively and in such a friendly manner. Such a wonderful place. Had tried to go back the next day but unfortunately Google was correct, they were indeed closed on Wednesday which was a shame as I could only eat there once before I had to leave but I will be back! The owner and his wife are very friendly. The owner patiently explained the different spices and the different kinds of soju. His wife considerately switched the local news channel to a Jackie Chan movie as I barely speak any Japanese and I was the only customer at that time. A really homey place with the most wonderful owners. The food was really good, we had the nara katsudon and the katsukare.
