Comfy - Japanese Café & Bar — Restaurant in Nara

This was one of the best meals of our entire trip and we wondered in off the street by accident. My family of 5 walked in for a late lunch after peering in the window and seeing they had enough seats to accommodate us. It was our best luck! We had an amazing lunch of super fresh ingredients paired with delicious local sake. The miso soup was the best I have ever had. I didn’t know miso soup could be that amazing. Voglio innanzitutto ringraziare Hiro per la bellissima accoglienza. Ero a Nara per qualche giorno assieme a mia moglie, ed alloggiavamo a due passi da questo stupendo locale, che ci è sembrato subito carino per il design,a purtroppo non eravamo riusciti a trovare prima l'occasione do andare, ed è stato davvero fantastico poter conoscere Hiro, che è stato un ospite squisito. Siamo stati accolti con calore in un ambiente molto carino, ove si vede la passione per il design. Sono stato colpito dalla grafica del menù e dalle spiegazioni dettagliate soprattutto dei sakè, che non avevo mai trovato così facili da capire per me che sono occidentale. Hiro mi ha infatti confermato che è un grafico, ed oltre ad essere super simpatico è anche molto preparato e professionale. Assieme alla sua Chef e compagna propongono una selezione di prodotti che valorizzano il territorio, ed è molto bello che abbiano studiato così bene gli abbinamenti per poter far conoscere i profumi genuini di Nara. So vede proprio che co tengono tanto, e meritano tantissimi complimenti. Oltre al cibo delicato, delizioso e freschissimo sono disponibili una bella selezione di sakè e whiskey. Anche in questo frangente Hiro ha saputo valorizzare il territorio e proporre abbinamenti armonici per la proposta dei piatti, rendendo l'esperienza culinaria davvero unica. I feel so lucky to have found this place. The owner, Hiro, is so friendly and fun, and speaks perfect English (as well as helping me learn a few useful new words in Japanese - thanks again for that!). We had our first ever sake here, and I can’t imagine a better place for it: with helpful non-judgemental tips and advice from someone who really knows what he’s talking about.
