Food was quite nice but I guess this is what you trade off for, for convenience and shorter queue. Have not tried the main branch but have had better tsukemen from an apprentice's shop. Or maybe the bad service left such a distasteful experience.
Service was one of the worst experience I've had. Water dispenser was dispensing dirty water. There were sediments floating in the 4 cups I've poured. Clearly not lemon infused water, in fact sediments were brown/black. This can be forgiven, everything cant be at its the best at all times. Its the way the staff handled that was appalling.
We informed a junior staff who later told a senior staff (older man). Meanwhile, other patrons were not informed at all. Staff took our cups away, and senior male staff later came to told us they have handwashed it. Told him that it was not the cups that were dirty and it was the dispenser. He simply just told us not to drink the water from dispenser then. This is an extremely rude way of just telling a patron to just deal with it. Did not provide us a jug of water to replace the water dispenser's either. When our food was ready, he kinda slammed the tray on the table and just left it sticking out of the table and left.
Felt like they just swept the whole issue under the rug and hated us for bringing it up. Feelings were well received, and it left us such a distasteful last meal/experience to conclude our trip.
Unfortunately, I didn't manage to take a photo of the first 4 cups with dirty water. The subsequent cups, still had some but were hard to capture by camera. Either way, that is not the part I want to complain about, but the service was horrendous. Junior staff was probably inexperienced which is forgivable, but the senior male staff was...
Read moreI last came to this shop 5 years ago and had the same dish (tsukumen), so I am going to comment on my current experiences as a comparison - Food: disappointing compared to 5 years ago. There was no perceivable bonito flakes or pieces in the tsukumen gravy, unlike before. The flavor was a little lacking due to this. Meat was provided as I ordered the extra large dish but was cold and lacking in flavor (i can still taste the refrigerant) when compared to what was provided 5 years ago. The noodles were cooked great, but the broth was not hot enough to enjoy the noodles. The gyoza was undercooked - the outside was not as crispy, and the filling was still distinctly raw - major no no and the reason i made this post. The egg was less flavorful as compared to previous times. No hot water was available to water down the tsukumen gravy into soup for further enjoyment. Service: Service was quick but distinctly young. Therefore, a portion of my meal was spent staring at them giggling and chatting with each other. I miss the seriousness of the previous staff. Atmosphere: The environment was the same as before. However, it felt more commercialised. TL;DR, I'll be giving this shop a miss on my next trip to...
Read moreCrowded but dont know whats the hype about the ramen. Been eating ramen the past week in Japan, & this by far is on my list the WORST RAMEN I have eaten in Japan. Utensils were not clean properly, the spoon they gave my partner still had leftover stains/food stuck on it. For me, my spoon had this overwhelming fishy smell it. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen, to my horror, instead of tasting like a pork broth, my ramen had this fishy aftertaste.. Service was horrible as well, told the female staff about this issue, who then conveyed it to the male service staff, which ended in them heading to the kitchen for a minute before they headed out & continued with work, ignoring the issue I had throughout the whole meal. TERRIBLE DO NOT RECCOMEND PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COST. Please look at the photo attached, barely...
