On my recent departure from Japan, I realized that I did not get my Tonkatsu fix in Tokyo.
Saboten at Narita Airport's Terminal 1 the Tonkatsu was crispy/crunchy outside and juicy inside. I ordered the set with the Prawn Tempora along with the Pork Tonkatsu.
The Miso soup was fine as well as the salad.
I washed it all down with a glass of Ebisu Beer.
The service was polite, but perfunctory. Food orders are made via tablet computer.
I sat in a booth / single table configuration and I felt very relaxed before my flight.

Read moreThe experience is really bad. The oyster and prawn still ok. The pork is coated with a thick layer of batter and the batter is undercooked. The taste of pasty batter was horrible. Tried to informed the service crew about it and she simply said it is ok. But I told her it is not and she brought it back to the kitchen. They fried the same pieces again and the result is still the same. We stopped eating, paid and left the restaurant. Our experiences at Saboten Singapore so far had been fantastic and we thought it should be even better in Japan....
