Ordered the Kiwami course meal. The meal is advertised as 13 types of sushi, but I counted 22 dishes in total. The meal was served over 1.5 hours so it did not feel rushed. The restaurant does not sit many guests, so the chef gives each guest his undivided attention. It is clear that he is serious about his craft but also cracks jokes to lighten the atmosphere. Definitely the best omakase experience I have had in Japan. The quality was consistently exceptional throughout the dinner, but the scallop sushi and grilled shrimp head stood out as my favorite. This was our first real sushi spot in Japan, so maybe others out there are even better. However compared to US omakases this was just as good if not fresher for 1/3 to 1/4 the cost. The chef seemed very serious at first but was quite funny actually and friendly, even with our very limited Japanese.

We also had language barrier, but the staff tried their best to communicate with us and introduce the menu. Speak of the food, it’s plenty for my family.
