THIS OWNER IS A THIEF AND LIAR!
We purchased two entry passes to origin on the 9th of July 25 (5500 yen each). I went to the bar to buy two cokes and handed both tickets to the bar tender. He marked both drinks off one pass and gave me the drinks. I forgot the other empty pass on the counter and walked off.
I came back asking for it and they denied I left it there. (I walked away certain I left it but started to second doubt myself). I was then approached by another customer stating that he saw the other card taken by the bartender, so I then went back and approached them kindly. They kept denying it and started to become rude and aggressive.
I then suggested for him to check the cctv and prove me wrong and that I would pay triple the ticket price if he could prove me wrong which he kept denying he could until he said I’ll do it after the game. I said I would agree to wait till after the game if he would give me a refund if I was right as it would’ve been unfair I couldn’t eat or drink during the game unless I paid even more money, he agreed to the deal and I waited.
With his staff going back and forth to my side table collecting cups etc that was also shared by another family, the card is yet to be found after looking everywhere for it.
With 10min to go of the game, his staff supposedly found the card on the table with the kids that were also sharing our table from the other family. Even though I found it hard to believe as that table was checked multiple times, I went and apologised to the owner as I felt bad as he may have been right.
I was then approached again by the other family (different family to the first one that approached me) saying that the card was never there before.
So clearly with 10min to go, he knew he’d have to pay me my money back, so he sent his staff member to ‘find the card on my table’.
Everyone around me agreed with me and could see it was set up and I was robbed of my card that...

Origin night 18/06/2025: A bunch of us Aussies and Kiwis went to Coolabah to have a good time out watching the origin. Upon entry we were told we had to pay for a prepaid/bar tab card which we load with money and they mark off every time we get a beer. Our group were specifically told by (the owner) and 1 of his Japanese staff that whatever money on the card doesn't get used we get it back Sounded like a great deal at the time....🙄
Fast foward to the ending of the game, a number of us from our group were ready to leave and as most of us hadn't completely used up our cards we 'respectfully' asked the owner if we could be reimbursed our remaining balances, and to our surprise we were met with immediate HOSTILITY. The owners words were "I didnt say that, YOU'RE LYING'!!! (Oh yeah a group of 9 people were all lying...yeah right) You can imagine how frustrated we all were, a couple from our group paid $50aud and only had 1 drink, a mother with her 2 kids had paid a total of $165aud and only used $50.
After alot of unnecessary back and forth and being yeld at by the owner, we left.
The owner and his accomplice staff basically ripped us off, and gave US the attitude when we questioned it....
And on top of all this
The Beer was flat Pies were cold It took nearly 2hrs for 1 sausage roll, and when they finally made it, it was cold. *Chips tasted like cardboard
Do yourself a well deserved favour and give this place a miss

Read moreRESPONSE TO OWNER BELOW: Went to this bar with a few mates, but as a Muslim who doesn’t drink, I found it very offensive that on the menu there was a drink called Suicide Bomber (Allahu Akbar). Whether it was intended as a joke or not, that’s pretty out of order tbh. You can’t even put it down to cultural miscommunication because the owner is Australian.
EDIT: In response to the asinine comments of the owner. I can’t believe it took two years to reply to me. I’m not implying all Australians are devout Muslims, that’s a ridiculous assumption to make. I was merely stating that I’d expect more cultural sensitivity from an Australian, as from experience I know it to be a multicultural place.
The second claims are laughable. Muslims are allowed to follow sport haha, and I can go into a bar, I don’t have to drink. It doesn’t call the integrity of my faith into question.
This isn’t a fake review, I was in the bar with some Australian friends, and they too were shocked by the frankly offensive name of the drink.
