Rooms: Rooms in Japan are expected to be small. We were 2- 190lbs males and we made it work. The bed frame is made to where you can fit your luggage’s underneath for storage. Large TV, hot water kettle, refrigerator, long mirror and multiple charger outlets (type A).
Bathroom: bathroom is small. Shower head is powerful and great. Water from the faucet states that it’s drinkable. Body wash, shampoo, conditioner and hand/face wash duo. No body lotion or cream though. Disposable shaver, shower cap, cotton tips, hairbrush combs, cups, tooth brush and tooth paste were some of the extra amenities.
We were given new towels and robes everyday and you can place your used towels in a bag and leave it outside before 11am.
Microwave and washer and dryer are one the 2nd floor. 500yen for the washer and 100 yen for the dryer.
Location: Great location, away from the busy areas but still walking distance from Dontonburi, restaurant, and shopping, bars, nightclubs, arcade. Orange street has a lot of vintage thrift shops.
Breakfast was ok. Just do the first day of breakfast to check out the options and decide if you want to pay for breakfast the remainder of the stay. There is 2 elevators, we didn’t have to wait long to get up to the room even when it’s a little congested in the lobby.
Check out is at 10am. Late check out is 2000 yen per hour. Your room can be cleaned daily if requested but it’s standard rule for the cleaners to come is every 3 days for hygienic purposes.
Overall, highly satisfied with our stay. We will book again given the chance to come to Osaka area.
Overall. Would be...
Read moreI have been traveling around Japan almost 1 month. I have stayed at many hotels Tokyu, Sotetsu, Comfort and now APA. There are so many branches so thought I would try one. The rooms are the smallest but huge TV. They offer free movies but cap the sound so you cannot hear it. There is one English channel BBC. They seem to control the temperature but you can open the window if you have one. They don’t have the self serve items like other hotels, tea and coffee, wash cloths. The biggest positive is it is close to a Namba train station entrance but not the one that goes directly to the Rapid Train platforms. But you can walk to it using the canal Walkway which has ramps so rolling luggage is easy. If you walk towards the Dotonbori food malls and the Running Glicca man sign, about 5 min. Then go up the rank and set your Google Map to Wendy’s First Kitchen. It will put you at the square where you enter into Nankai Namba station. HK through that entrance, near E2 subway exit. HK up escalators, you will see the plane icon, you can buy a ticket in the train office for Rapid train to KIX Airport, about $9.50. It took me 17 min walk to the train platform entrance from APA hotel door using the Canal walkway. Because it is near the canal if you have a room looking over the street, it may be loud at night. However tolerable. It is the end of the canal near the OCTC...
Read moreThis is the second APA I stayed in and I do like them. The staff are really nice and friendly and try to help with everything. The price is great. I find the TV in the room turning onto the APA channel quite fun and informative. Check in and check out are very easy. The room is fine for travelling with medium luggage.
Where it falls down is breakfast isn’t as good as other hotels and while the location may be great for people wanting the nightlife it’s important to note the hotel is in a red light district where you get asked if you want a massage every time you go up to the local corner shop.
It’s also entirely non smoking (the only non smoking hotel on my trip, the APA in asakusa had a smoking room) and again the area outside is also non smoking, although it doesn’t seem to stop the locals lighting up where they please there are signs to say you’ll be fined if caught. The nearest area you can smoke i found was a ten minute walk away, but in a sketchy area where guys are selling drugs. This could be a great location for you but just know what you’re...
