The food… more like the drinks!
We were thinking of grabbing a quick sake shot since they had so many options that you can straight pour from their machines!
The worker offered us to try the sake flight - definitely a must do if you have some time and can handle a couple shots!
This was AMAZING!
We thought we were getting a flight of sake to try, but it was actually a whole lesson on sake, the different levels of rice polishing ratio (classification) and then the types of sake!
Our favorite was the Junmai Daiginjo which I’ve always thought the junmai gingo was my favorite.. but the taste test revealed I like a lighter rice potency and clean clear flavor.
Definitely a must try!

Read moreThe Sake Experience is located in essentially a food hall which has lots of seating and was very comfortable. I didn't feel like I was being hurried in any way.
We went with the 8 glass sake experience which means I have a nice buzz on as I write this. I really enjoyed trying the different sake side by side. Although I have had sake before, I haven't had a chance to compare it and I learned a lot about it. I also learned about what I liked (the matured type of course- gotta like the expensive stuff). I really wish we would have gotten some snacks at the same time.

Read moreAs two American tourists, we didn’t expect to stumble across a pay-as-you-sample sake booth in a communal food hall - but are lucky we did! The staff had good English and were very friendly and helpful in loading up our card, then walking us through the process of trying 30-, 60-, or 90ml tasters from dozens(!) of different options. They even took a few of our extra small-denomination coins to round out our card with juuust enough credit for our last taste. The free snacks with our initial charge were the (proverbial, not literal) cherry on top of the experience.
