WARNING: Do NOT stay at this location, there are plenty of other hotels in Osaka. You are probably attracted to the closeness to Namba Station or the price but believe me you will regret spending your money here given many circumstances. Without going in to too much detail, the rooms are extremely unclean. Starting with the room key cards, I understand the ability to reuse and recycle the cards after each stay but when your card is brown and clearly used, that should already be a red flag. When you enter the room, make sure you examine the room before you settle in and check out immediately so they do not find an excuse to charge you for one night or ask for another room (which they won’t give you causing you to find another hotel at 10pm at night after a 5 hour commute). ||Bathroom: There were stains on the walls near the sink and a pile of long blonde hair dangling off the towel, some of it looked like bodily fluids from a previous guest?||Bed: When you lift up the sheets, you will find some black dots on the sheets. I ripped off the blanket while I was on the phone with my reservation agency to let them know how disgusting the rooms were.||Bed frame: Both rooms head headboards that had finger prints from prior guests.||Curtains: Without even touching this, there was what appeared to be a bug 1/3 of an inch long on the curtain. ||If a sanitary temporary living area is not your concern then go ahead and book but I can only tell you my honest opinion to help you avoid any disappointment upon arrival. I’m sure after my case, house keeping will do a better job in cleaning. There are a couple of more reasons with the front desk why I would not recommend to stay here but I wanted to share my main concern with future guests. ||Japan is very clean and they take pride in that so I was shocked Red Roof Inn Namba was by far the most dirty place I have ever seen.||They do have one management staff (Tsai) who cared about his guests and tried his veg best to make it better after the fact. Japan is very clean and they take pride in that so I was shocked Red Roof Inn Namba was by far the most dirty place I have ever seen.

I booked this hotel for $28.00 a night so my assessment if reflective of the price I got.
Check-in and check-out was fast. Let check-out is available at ¥1,000 an hour (which is about the market rate).
There is a free-use coffee dispenser machine at the lobby as well as tea bags and green tea powder. There is also a money exchange machine at the lobby. Lastly, there is a table where you can get bath robes, shower caps, cotton earbuds, razors, and hair brushes.
Rooms are as clean as you'd expect and as small as you'd expect. I was a solo traveler so space was not an issue but if there are two of you and you've towed individual suitcases, space becomes scarce quickly. There are hangers but no closet.
Building is relatively new as you can see that they have centralised air-conditioning and the bathroom fixtures don't look like those on a train/plane as you'll find in older Japanese hotels.
There is a reasonably sized television without cable.
Soundproofing could be improved since there was one night that some people down the hallway were talking (not even shouting) and I could hear them from my room. But otherwise, I had no problem sleeping and the blackout curtains were effective.
A safe and a mini fridge comes with the room. There are air-purifiers in the corridor of each floor that guests are free to borrow.
There will be dust in you smash on your pillows/have a pillow fight but that did not affect me during my stay (I have allergic rhinitis and skin that easily gets itchy/rashes but neither occurred).
Lastly, location is great. Cross the street and you're in DenDen Town, go around the corner and you're in Sennichimae. Walk a little further and you're in Dotonbori. I walked to Dotonbori and Shinsekai for breakfast without issue. It's reasonably close to the subway station and convenience stores. There's a Lawson across the street and another Lawson round the corner. So many restaurant options are within a ten minute stroll. The Nankai station is also very close so going to/from Kansai Airport is not a problem.
I would book again at or around the same price...
