Recently visited IPPUDO Ramen in Osaka, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The moment I stepped in, I was greeted by a cozy and efficiently designed space that accommodated a steady stream of patrons without feeling cramped. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining atmosphere.
I ordered the Akamaru Ramen, and it did not disappoint. The broth was rich and savory, with a slightly sweeter note from the pork, and the spiciness was sharper than versions I’ve tried elsewhere. The thin, firm noodles had a smooth texture and held up well throughout the meal. The chashu was tender and flavorful, complementing the overall dish perfectly. Additionally, the complimentary marinated side dishes added an extra layer of taste to the meal.
Despite its popularity, the wait time was surprisingly short, and the service was prompt. The ambiance, combined with the delectable food, made for an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you’re a ramen aficionado or a first-timer, IPPUDO Ramen in Osaka is a...
Read moreIf you're looking for an authentic ramen joint, look no further. Ippudo is one of those ramens you add to your must-eat when in Japan.
I've had Ippudo in Tokyo, Japan, and recently trying here in Osaka; the signature bowl didn't disappoint. I ordered the Akamaru Spicy ramen, and from the first slurp to the last, it's heaven. The flavorful broth, the balance of flavors, and the perfect chewiness of the thin Ippudo-style noodles, I can eat this type of ramen every day.
I also ordered the Hakata Hitokuchi dumplings with lightly, pan-fried crispy skin and flavorful filling.
With so many types of ramen in Japan, it's tough not to compare; however, each is unique in their own right. Ippudo is one of the types of ramen that has a long history and is consistently good. I've enjoyed many ramen places in Japan, and Ippudo has been amazing every time.
This location gets busy, but the wait isn't too long. The service is courteous and attentive. You can also buy the make-at-home ramen packages. Which my family did, and it's one tasty bowl of...
Read moreI would rate this a solid "it's okay". Only 990 yen for a bowl of Tonkotsu ramen with all the toppings, fast service, and no queues at 6PM (actually probably a bad sign). The ramen was okay, but base was pretty light and not particularly rich, and way too salty. Chashuu was moderately soft, but the fat on it was a bit hard and not melty. Note: The egg is a soft boiled egg with no flavouring, not a soy marinated egg. Tried the bite sized gyoza as well, they had a super thin, delicate skin and a very soft, loose filling. No option to adjust spice levels, richness or saltiness, or add garlic. Complimentary cold tea! A waitress will take your order and you'll be seated at a shared table, no vending machines here. There is one unisex toilet here.
Overall would recommend if you're in a rush and can't queue for good ramen, or if you want a more relaxed experience sitting and chatting and listening to the jazz in the background. Otherwise definitely...
