BOOKOFF Osaka Namba-naka — Local services in Osaka

This Bookoff has two floors and a pretty big selection. The first floor is mainly games and CDs, while the second floor has DVDs and books. It’s easy to spend quite a bit of time browsing because there’s so much variety. Since it’s in a tourist area, the prices aren’t the cheapest compared to other Bookoff locations. That being said, it’s still cheaper than most regular stores, and you can sometimes find good deals if you take your time to look. I noticed the game section had a solid mix of newer titles and older ones, which was nice. Even though it’s busier than other branches, it’s worth a visit if you’re nearby. I used to shop at Book Off to save money on used Blu-ray and video games. Sadly, the prices at this particular store feel almost like be prices for many of the Switch games and many PS5 as well. The only benefit coming here is to not pay shipping or reshipper fees.

I recommend using Amazon's used market and shipping to your hotel for anything you are looking for as you'll get it at a better price from what I saw compared to here.

Anime Blu-ray section is pitiful, so don't come here looking for used Blu-ray goodness either.

Lots of books. They will sell entire collections of Manga and this is where you get a pretty great price...

Incredibly small English section (second floor), but that makes sense for a used bookstore in Japan -- probably not a lot of people dropping off English books there. That said, I've found a few decent reads here and they're usually only ¥210 each. It's worth a shot if you're an avid reader and don't want to spend a ton of money on English books that you'll blast through in a week.

A substantial portion of these books are basically textbooks on things like orthopedics, for some reason. I usually snatch up any fiction books that look even remotely...
